Over the past few weeks we have been experimenting with a new ingredient – Baobab Fruit. Surprisingly, few people have heard about this fruit – which seems odd given the incredible nutrients in the Baobab Fruit.
What is The Baobab Fruit?
The Baobab Fruit grows on the Baobab Tree in Africa, Madagascar and Australia. From what we can tell, the majority of the Baobab Fruit pulp powder here is the USA comes from the Adansonia Digitata species of Baobab tree.
If you are new to the Baobab Fruit and want to learn more, we have a few resources that are great. First off, check out this video on What Is Baobab –
Next up, I would take a look at the Limitless Good articles about the Baobab Fruit, they are some of the best and funniest articles I have ever read on Baobab. I love the use of humor, mixed in with science and facts.
Sounds Interesting, But What Are the Health Benefits of the Baobab Fruit?
Again, after doing some research, I was able to find a short 5 minute video that does a great job of describing the health benefits of the Baobab Fruit. Here is the video –
While they do recommend Organic Baobab Fruit and specifically talk about Limitless Baobab, I like that the video is free of hype. They do not get into the argument over which is the best superfood or superfruit, they simply state the potential health benefits from including Baobab in your diet.
How We Are Using Baobab Fruit Powder?
There are many different ways to use Organic Baobab Fruit powder, we tend to like to keep things simple. The easiest approach is to mix about 6 grams of Organic Baobab Fruit Pulp powder into 12 ounces of water. Shake and Drink! It really does not get much easier than that. You might want to add some honey if it is too sour for you – we tend to like the taste of straight Baobab.
The other thing we have been doing is baking with Baobab. Baobab Brownies – Baobab Cookies – all taste great. You can also use Baobab powder to replace gluten in a recipe.
